  • Research & Development Engineer

    A2 Labs LLC is seeking a Research and Development (R&D) Engineer with experience in cybersecurity and machine learning, particularly in a research setting. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, driving innovation in cybersecurity, machine learning, and network analysis. Candidates with hands-on experience in these areas and a passion for evolving the field are highly encouraged to apply.

    Key Responsibilities:
    1. Network Analysis and Management – Build, debug, and analyze network infrastructures, understanding traffic flows and typical network usage patterns to identify anomalies and optimize performance
    2. Machine Learning for Cybersecurity – Develop and apply machine learning models for tasks like anomaly detection, probability modeling, and sequential data analysis. Utilize models such as neural networks, random forests, and Naive Bayes to enhance network and system security.
    3. Cybersecurity Research and Application – Engage in cybersecurity research, focusing on attack chains, software exploitation, and security postures. Participate in Red Team/Blue Team cyber exercises and contribute to penetration testing efforts.
    4. Testbed Development and Virtualization – Design, manage, and deploy virtual machine and container-based testbeds. Implement remote network management and software-defined networking to simulate real-world cybersecurity challenges.
    5. Research and Experimentation – Design experiments, write research papers and proposals, and analyze performance metrics (e.g., reliability, generalization, usability) to support ongoing research and development projects.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred, but exceptional candidates with equivalent experience will also be considered.
    • Strong knowledge in building and analyzing networks, understanding traffic patterns, and managing network packet flows.
    • Experience with machine learning techniques, especially for anomaly detection, sequential data analysis, and probability models.
    • Familiarity with attack chains, software exploitation, and cybersecurity measures such as penetration testing and cyber exercises.
    • Hands-on experience with virtual machines, containers, remote network management, and software-defined networking.

  • Data Center Engineer

    A2 Labs LLC is seeking a Data Center Engineer to join a dynamic team responsible for the design, migration, implementation, enhancement, optimization, and maintenance of our data center. The role involves working closely with engineering and IT teams on various technical projects for both internal use and external contract performance. This may include network consolidation, architecture updates, and site renovations or relocations.

    Location:
    The primary office location will be Arlington, VA, with local travel to our data center and other locations as necessary. A hybrid work-from-home schedule is negotiable.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide technical expertise in network integration and consolidation across multiple system environments.
    • Address and resolve technical issues related to the installation and upgrade of network hardware and systems of moderate complexity.
    • Interface with customers, vendors, and technical staff to analyze and align business and technical requirements.
    • Engineer and implement technical solutions from initial design to final deployment.
    • Collaborate with internal and partner engineers on projects to ensure the finalized solution meets business needs.
    • Assist and train engineers on emerging technologies to enhance the organization’s technical expertise.
    • Incorporate software automation tools and scripting languages to handle repetitive tasks efficiently.
    • Maintain detailed documentation and adhere to change management policies and procedures.
    • Evaluate current and emerging technologies, conduct technical assessments, and make recommendations to senior staff.
    • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to complete individual projects and tasks with minimal oversight.

    Travel:
    • Occasional travel may be required.

    Qualifications:
    Education:
    Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience required. A Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience is preferred. Candidates with 6 years of relevant career experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    Technical Skills:
    • Hands-on data center configuration experience, with a focus on VMware, Unix/Linux, and deployment of services.
    • Direct experience with network routing, VLANs, and Site-to-Site VPNs preferred.
    • Design and implementation of data center technologies, including power requirements, physical security, hardware installation, and maintenance.
    • Strong familiarity with Cisco and pfSense equipment, and experience in network and cybersecurity concepts (e.g., SSH, IPSec, PKI, firewall policies).
    • Experience with federal security standards such as NIST 800-171 and CMMC preferred.

    Other Skills:
    • Excellent troubleshooting abilities and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to pass a background security check. Clearable U.S. citizenship is preferred.

  • Android Mobile Application Developer

    We are seeking a skilled and experienced Android Mobile Application Developer to join our innovative team. If you have a passion for creating cutting-edge mobile applications and at least four years of hands-on experience in Android development, we’d love to hear from you!

    As an Android Mobile Application Developer, you will contribute to the development of automated analysis software for mobile applications. You will have the opportunity to influence key technical decisions, shape the development process, and make a meaningful impact on our products. This role offers exposure to advanced mobile security initiatives and the chance to expand your expertise in a dynamic environment.

    Responsibilities
    Analyze business and technical requirements to design and develop software applications.
    Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Android applications using Java and/or C/C++.
    Collaborate with designers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to define and implement new features.
    • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to industry best practices.
    • Ensure the quality, performance, and responsiveness of applications through rigorous testing and optimization.

    Qualifications
    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    Minimum of four years of professional experience in Android application development.
    Strong proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
    In-depth knowledge of the Android SDK, Android Studio, and related development tools.
    • Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and integrating web services.
    • Proficiency with version control systems, such as Git.
    Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
    Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
    Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

    Preferred Skills
